7. Deodorant
If we look at the ingredients of industrial deodorants, we find that they often have a questionable composition. Most industrial brands have already caused underarm allergies. Today it is no secret that the aluminium salts contained in most deodorants and antiperspirants cause abnormal cell division and are responsible for certain cancers.
In this composition, we often find aluminium and paraben, which are both endocrine disruptors. Unfortunately, they are still on sale in supermarkets, because the divergent opinions of scientists on this subject do not make it possible to prove a causal link.
The armpits are indeed an important part of the body as they contain lymph nodes that ensure the body's immunity. Lymph nodes in contact with chemical cosmetics are attacked and fight against these external toxins. Therefore, they cannot perform their role of immunity properly.
Beware of the alum stone. It is said that it is better for your health because it is natural. However, it naturally contains aluminum, this substance that we want to avoid in natural cosmetics.

What are the advantages of making your own cosmetics?
Making your own natural cosmetics has become a real trend. With the awareness that industrial products are bad for health and the environment, more and more people are looking for naturalness. Indeed, natural homemade cosmetics have many advantages over the preparations found in the supermarket.
In addition to taking care of oneself and the planet, what a pride to be able to make one's own personalized recipes! If you still have doubts, take an interest in what you can find in commercially available cosmetics, so that you can become truly aware of what they contain.
The advantages of making natural cosmetics are numerous:
- You can choose all the ingredients
- Most products are organic or of natural origin.
- Homemade cosmetics are more effective
- Homemade cosmetics are more environmentally friendly
- You can personalize your beauty products
And let's not forget, making your own cosmetics is also... fun! It's like learning how to cook. You can't do without your natural cosmetics once you've tasted them. What's more, you'll take great pleasure in making them. You gain experience as you go along, and you can play with your favourite ingredients once you've discovered which ones do you the most good.
However, be careful with the preservation of your homemade cosmetics.
Homemade cosmetics should be used quickly since they do not contain chemical preservatives.

For a homemade shower gel that keeps for example 1 month, remember to note the ingredients and the date of manufacture on small labels to stick on your products. No, you can't be a Sunday chemist when it comes to your health!
